On day six of our trip to Iceland, we were driving along the Eastern coast of the island. We stopped at a few beaches along the way to our final destination. At one of the beaches, there was a super cool rock formation that was not far off shore.
Our friend Brian had snow pants and waterproof shoes, so he decided to brave the waves and get on the rocks. He did so successfully without getting very wet. Then, our friend Katie decided to do the same. However, Katie was not wearing snow pants, but she was instead wearing sweatpants which were not waterproof at all.
Katie, not surprisingly, did not make it to the rocks without getting wet. She spent the rest of the day and car ride slightly damp and pretty cold.
In other news, I had a great day! A few days before this, we visited a cave where a scene from Game of Thrones was filmed, and I was still very super happy from that because I am a fan of the series.
When I got into the cave, the water was beautiful, and then I realized that Jon Snow and Ygritte were still in the cave! So, I took this super awesome picture with them in the background.
After taking the picture, I quickly left the cave as I didn’t want to… interrupt anything.
When we finally got to the hotel that night, Katie was exhausted from spending the majority of the day cold and damp.
She immediately passed out in our hotel bed (even with all her clothes on and with gum in her mouth!) with her kiwi Squishmallow.
That night she slept very soundly and dreamed of better days where she was warm and dry.
